Safety & Support

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Feeling safe on Tichodex matters to us more than anything else.

1. If You’re in Crisis

If you’re thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you’re in immediate danger, call your local emergency number now.

  • Emergency services: 112 (Türkiye, the EU and many other countries), 911 (US and Canada), 999 (UK).
  • United States: call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
  • UK and Ireland: Samaritans on 116 123, free and 24/7.
  • Anywhere else: find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
  • Reach out to someone you trust, a doctor or a mental-health professional. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

2. What Tichodex Is Not

Tichodex is a peer-support community where people listen to each other. The people you talk to aren’t doctors, psychologists or counsellors; their suggestions are personal opinions and don’t replace professional help. Make decisions about medication, diagnosis and treatment only with a doctor.

3. Tools That Protect You

  • Block: Blocked people can’t see your profile, posts or stories and can’t message you.
  • Report: Report posts, comments, profiles, stories and chats. Reports reach our moderators instantly.
  • Support requests: In “I Need to Talk” mode you decide who can reach you; someone you decline can’t write to you for 48 hours.
  • Private account: Only followers you approve can see your posts and follower lists.
  • View-once media: Opens once and then can’t be viewed again.
  • Notification control: Choose which notifications you get in Settings, or pause them all with one tap.

4. Tips for Safer Conversations

  • Never share your home address, phone number, school, workplace or ID details.
  • Be careful with anyone who asks for money, gifts, private photos or to move to another app — and report them.
  • You never have to keep talking to someone who makes you uncomfortable, pressures or threatens you: block them.
  • If you think someone may harm themselves, encourage them to contact emergency services and someone close to them, and report the content.

5. Protecting Children

We have zero tolerance for any behaviour that puts children at risk: the content is removed immediately, the account is permanently closed and the case is reported to the authorities. See our Community Guidelines.

6. How Moderation Works

Reports are reviewed by our moderation team of real people. Content that breaks the rules is removed and, depending on how serious the violation is, we issue a warning, a temporary restriction or a permanent ban. You get a notification with the outcome of your report. For legal removal requests, see Content Removal.
