Tichodex is a community where people who need to talk meet people who love to listen. Here’s how it works in five minutes.
1. Two Modes, One Community
Everyone on Tichodex is in one of two modes and can switch at any time:
🌙 I Need to Talk
Choose this when you want to open up, be heard or get a second opinion. People who want to help send you a short support request first — you decide who you talk to.
☀️ I Help Out
Choose this if you love listening, sharing what you’ve learned and lighting up someone’s night. You reach people who need to talk with a respectful support request.
2. Tichodex Step by Step
- Create your account. Sign up with email and password or with Google, and pick a username. You don’t have to use your real name.
- Choose your mode. “I Need to Talk” or “I Help Out”. Change it any time from your profile.
- Share or explore. Post what’s on your mind, share a 24-hour story or browse what others are sharing in the feed.
- Connect. “I Help Out” members send support requests to “I Need to Talk” members; once a request is accepted, a private chat begins.
- Talk. Send text and voice messages, photos and view-once media. Your chat stays between the two of you.
- Say thanks. Tap “Solved My Problem” for the person who truly helped you; it shows on their profile and builds trust across the community.
3. What You Can Do
- Posts and comments: Share a worry, an experience or a piece of advice; like, comment and repost.
- Stories and highlights: Share 24-hour stories, keep your favourites in profile highlights and see who viewed them.
- Private chat: Text and voice messages, photos, view-once media, replies and forwarding.
- Follow: Follow the people who help you; make your account private if you prefer.
- You’re in control: Block, report, fine-tune notifications and delete your account whenever you want.
4. How We Keep It Safe
The community is protected by a moderation team of real people. Reports reach the team instantly; bullying, hate speech, encouragement of self-harm and anything that puts children at risk are removed. Details: Community Guidelines and Safety & Support.

5. Common Questions
What’s the difference between “I Need to Talk” and “I Help Out”?
In I Need to Talk mode you want to open up, be heard and get advice; people who want to help send you a short support request first, and it’s entirely up to you whether to accept. In I Help Out mode you listen, offer perspective and send support requests. You can switch modes any time from your profile.
Do I have to use my real name?
No. On Tichodex you appear with a username; sharing your real name, photo or city is completely optional. Your email address is never shown on your profile.
What does “Solved My Problem” mean?
It’s how you thank an “I Help Out” member who really helped you by listening and offering perspective. You can give it once per person, and it shows as a counter on their profile.
How do view-once photos work?
A photo you send as view-once opens for the other person only once and can’t be viewed again. The file is permanently deleted from our servers 30 days after it’s opened.
Can I make my account private?
Yes. Turn on Private Account in Settings and only followers you approve can see your posts and follower lists.
